FAQ

What is the Izumo in Hull Rupture?
The Wand Report preview relays Konfa’s description: a small, maneuverable ship made from random stuff found after Earth was destroyed (Wand Report preview, Apr 23, 2026). It was the sole ship in that preview demo build.
Is Izumo the only ship in the full game?
No. The Nov 2, 2026 pre-launch post states three starting ships at retail, with one ship and Classic Mode available at first; more unlock through progression (Pre-launch post, Nov 2, 2026).
Which ship is the low-mass, high-speed starter?
Devlog #3 (Aug 14, 2026) says one of the three starting ships supports keeping mass low to visit more destinations, but it does not name the ship (Devlog #3, Aug 14, 2026). Izumo is not explicitly tied to that teaser in official text we have.
Was Izumo in the public demo?
Devlog #2 (Jun 18, 2026) notes the demo included one starting ship with layout upgrades during a run (Devlog #2, Jun 18, 2026). Preview coverage identifies that demo ship as Izumo (Wand Report preview, Apr 23, 2026). The pre-release demo is now disabled (Pre-launch post, Nov 2, 2026).
What are the other two starting ships called?
Not published in Steam announcements reviewed for this page. Konfa said a future devlog would cover all three starting ships (Devlog #3, Aug 14, 2026).

What is the Izumo according to official-style descriptions?

Press preview coverage of Konfa’s pre-launch build describes the Izumo as a small, maneuverable ship made from random stuff found lying around when Earth was destroyed—scrappy, but functional (Wand Report preview, Apr 23, 2026). The same preview notes three ships to pick from in the full game vision, while only Izumo appeared in that preview demo (Wand Report preview, Apr 23, 2026).

Retail Steam copy confirms three starting ships without naming Izumo explicitly in the Nov 2 pre-launch bullet list (Pre-launch post, Nov 2, 2026).

Demo vs retail Demo / preview: one visible starter identified as Izumo in preview text. Retail: three starters; demo disabled; only tutorial + Trade Mode carry over (Pre-launch post, Nov 2, 2026).
Open questions Retail confirmation that Izumo remains a starter name; which ship matches the low-mass teaser; unlock requirements for other hulls.

How many ships exist at retail launch?

The Nov 2, 2026 pre-launch post states:

  • Three starting ships
  • Six modes and four difficulty settings
  • You begin with one ship and Classic Mode (20 alien waves)
  • More ships and modes unlock through progression (Pre-launch post, Nov 2, 2026)

The Jul 16, 2026 Next Fest follow-up post repeats three starships, each for a different playstyle, with six game modes (Next Fest follow-up post, Jul 16, 2026).

What did the demo include?

Devlog #2 (Jun 18, 2026) says the demo included one starting ship and several upgrades that alter its layout during a run—motivation for later Hull Construction replacing fixed upgrades (Devlog #2, Jun 18, 2026). Devlog #4 (Oct 22, 2026) and the pre-launch post describe Hull Construction at retail: expand with shaped blocks, control alien routes, and (retail) place modules in any empty slot (Devlog #4, Oct 22, 2026; Pre-launch post, Nov 2, 2026). Details: hull construction guide.

What is the low-mass starting ship teaser?

Devlog #3 (Aug 14, 2026) states travel speed depends on engines and total ship mass, and that one of the three starting ships supports a playstyle of keeping mass low to visit more destinations—while still unable to hit every star in one run (Devlog #3, Aug 14, 2026). Konfa explicitly says this is a teaser and that a future devlog will cover all three starting ships (Devlog #3, Aug 14, 2026).

No Steam announcement in our set names Izumo as that low-mass hull. Linking Izumo to the teaser would be interpretation beyond the text.

How does ship choice connect to routes and defense?

Devlog #3 ties mass and engines to galaxy routing—slower heavy ships versus faster light builds—and Devlog #2 ties layout to tower-defense lanes and turret angles (Devlog #3, Aug 14, 2026; Devlog #2, Jun 18, 2026). The galaxy routes guide summarizes star types and travel trade-offs from the same devlog series.
